Three Precious Jewels

God has given unto me, three jewels as precious as can be
To my day they put a sparkle, my love for them will never cease
A life without them. Oh! Unimaginable, every day I want to see
Talk, laugh and joke with them, my heart it knows then peace

Each one of them possess their own qualities, their natures
Sunita, she's always been the quiet one, very gentle in her way
Such patience she had with her two younger sisters
Mothering them, teaching them, listening to whatever they say

Nina, who didn't have an easy start in life, fought hard and brave
She was our little struggler, never giving up when times got tough
As a baby, a little bundle, weighing less than three pounds
But with a willpower so strong, of that she certainly had enough

Then along came Jenny, the youngest of the three
With her happy, cheerful nature, always playing at her leisure
Never would you see a groan on her face
But a radiant smile would greet you, fill your day with pleasure

The years passed by and older they have become
But to me, their Mother, they will always be
My precious jewels, my heartfelt joy
Each one of them, to my heart they hold the key

Every day they give to me happiness and joy
Such a treat it is, just to sit and talk, to listen to their voice
Sit around the table laughing, discussing different things
Hours would fly by, unnoticed, in our conversation of choice

Friends brought home and join us they would
Dinner would be shared out, all would eat to their delight
In a wonderful feeling of belonging, as one should
Relaxed, content, jokes shared, as happy people might

Thank God daily for my beloved daughters, I do
Each one as unique as a blooming rose's petal
May they forever hold my love in their hearts too
And take it with them wherever they may settle

I love you Sunita, Nina and Jenny

    Marvelously carved out lines:

Each one of them, to my heart they hold the key"
