Minutes leak into hours
As hours seep into days
In the blink of an eyelid
Weeks give way to months
Years roll by on us
Time lost, slipping away
Busy planning tomorrow
Without living today
Personal goals and aims
Aspired with diligence and purpose
Time applied with thought
Reward us with fulfilment and focus
A generous gift from God
A generous gift from God
To be caressed and relished
This very minute, this hour
Valuable and precious

Wonderfully expressed poem on the gift of time.

Hi Margie, thank you so much. I think we all need to learn to treasure our days like you do. x
DeleteWelcome back Margaret :) Beautiful poem :)
ReplyDeleteEvery line is so true and meaningful. The first stanza is very captivating and stands out in the poem. While we are busy making plans in life, time quietly slips away before we realise, years fly by! :)
One blessing time has given mankind is - it heals pain. It lightens the heart by reducing pain as each day passes, promoting the philosophy that with time everything has to move on and we need to embrace life with a new hope.
Well written,
Good luck,
Charan x
Thanks for the warm welcome back, Charan. :)

DeleteMargaret-Thank you for that beautiful reminder that we need to always be in the "now", living the present to the fullest.
ReplyDeleteHi Bruce, I have to remind myself as well. It's something we all tend to forget. Hope you're keeping well.
DeleteBeautiful lines. One must learn to live in the present
ReplyDeleteThanks Onkar. I'm learning it. Life is too short to worry about what happened yesterday or what might happen tomorrow.
DeleteMarital bliss is this all in your poem, I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :)
