Tears from heaven
pure and white
gently falling
a prodigious sight
Rosy cheeks
frosty fingers
as I walk my walk
and stop to linger
New snow, new day
thoughts stabbing my mind
escaping their caves
of darkness
Footprints here today
gone tomorrow
why ponder?
Sun beams its lavish smile
warming my heart for a while
Melted snow encountering streams
Incorporated
reliving its cycle
Natures quest
To come and go
and come again
As each new day begins
Sun beams its lavish smile
warming my heart for a while
Melted snow encountering streams
Incorporated
reliving its cycle
Natures quest
To come and go
and come again
As each new day begins
yes. a new day begins every day... i loved this part-
ReplyDeleteFootprints here today
gone tomorrow
why ponder?
exactly. why bother if it is gone. we need to be strong and do it. (i am trying) really nice message here. loved it.
Thank you Lala.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the message. You know sometimes we worry about trivial things (at the time they might seem huge problems). But tomorrow brings a new day and a new outlook on life, so let's not ponder. (I know you're trying). TC
Dear Margaret,
ReplyDeleteThe lines quoted above by Mr.Lala are really superb. Yes, every day is fresh and unique. As change is certain, we are never the same.
Even these lines are creditable:
"Thoughts stabbing my mind
escaping their caves
of darkness".
We took birth in the past, we now live in the present and we shall die in the future. So, what difference do we make to this World during our stay?
The answer would be - your poem "Footprints". Yes for the generation next, we leave behind our footsteps.
Lovely choice of words. Footprints have their importance even if they are transient.
ReplyDeleteYes, on the path of life each day
ReplyDeleteWe leave our foot print behind
But in the very same way
An impression is stored in our mind
Very good Margaret,
keep pouring forth your Soul
Brendan
@ Charan
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your elaborate comment.
Yes, the question could be "What difference do we make in this world during our stay?"
Let's not worry about what was yesterday but focus on today and make the most of it.

Thanks Brendan,
Yes, the impressions do get stored in our minds. The important thing is not to broad over them but to leave them behind and make room for new opportunities in life.
Just WOW!

Hi Margie
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my blog, thanks for the kind words. Glad you like it.
"To come and go
ReplyDeleteand come again
As each new day begins'
Life comes full circle each day, yet I have the same thoughts before going to sleep each day, 'Was anything I did today worth remembering, how was this day any special?'
But I guess, if every day was special...then none would be special (by virtue of contradiction of definition of special) I don't know what am writing anymore. lolzzz
Hi Aniket
ReplyDeleteYou mightn't know what you're writing anymore (tired, I guess) ;)
But I know what you mean. We feel every day should be special, but as you rightly said, if that was the case it wouldn't be any different from any other day, so in the end it wouldn't be special!
I think if we reflect on the day and just try to improve anything that can be improved for a better tomorrow, then that's enough.
Thanks for giving me your thoughts on "Footprints"
