Autumn Beauty
The leaves, they’re changing colour, the air’s getting cooler
Days are becoming shorter, evenings, they come too soon
God’s Nature around us is changing, so obvious to the eye
The beauty of the landscape. Oh! How it makes my heart sigh
There's nothing more rewarding, than to take a walk along
The banks of a flowing river bed or up a mountain trail
When all around the leaves are falling, descending to the ground
Being sent on their unknown journey, gently, without a sound
Trees aflame with magnificent shades, only nature can deliver
Golden, green, yellow and red, glowing in the autumn sun
Beneath each tree, a carpet of colour, a rustle under my feet
Through the carpet I’d wander, upturning this scene, so neat
For hours and hours, along the paths I’d walk, never tiring
My eyes feasting upon this beauty, this loveliness, this gift
A gentle breeze blowing, scattering the leaves, making them dance
Through the air they’d cruise, setting a scene, putting me in a trance
The weak autumn sun reflects off the sombre lake, so still
A glittering of a thousand diamonds, jumping off the surface
Their dance never standing still, a treat to whoever may see
This beautiful day in autumn. A day, as precious as can be
